The S7-1200 Programmable Logic Controller is flexible and powerful, capable of controlling a wide range of devices to meet your automation needs. Its compact structure, flexible configuration, and powerful instruction set make it the perfect solution for controlling various applications.

 

The CPU integrates the following elements and more into a compact housing, creating a highly capable controller:
- Microprocessor
- Integrated power supply
- Input and output circuits
- Built-in PROFINET
- High-speed motion control I/O

 

After downloading the user program, the CPU contains the logic necessary to monitor the devices in the application. The CPU monitors inputs and changes outputs based on the logic of the user program, which may include Boolean logic, counting, timing, complex mathematical operations, motion control, and communication with other intelligent devices.

 

The CPU provides a PROFINET port for communication via a PROFINET network. Additional modules can be used for communication based on the following networks and protocols:
