As prolonged high temperatures continue throughout the summer, fire safety has become an increasingly important priority for industrial facilities. To strengthen workplace safety management, enhance employees' fire prevention awareness, and improve emergency response capabilities, Plutools organized a comprehensive fire safety training and emergency drill for all on-duty employees on August 1.

Identifying Fire Hazards Before They Become Risks
The training began with a fire hazard identification session led by the company's Safety Management Team. Focusing on common summer fire risks-including overheated electrical equipment, improper storage of hazardous materials, and the accumulation of production waste-employees were guided through workshops, warehouses, and electrical distribution areas to identify potential hazards.
Participants inspected common safety issues such as aging electrical wiring, blocked emergency exits, and expired fire extinguishers. This practical exercise helped employees better understand the fire prevention priorities within their respective work areas while reinforcing the principle that every potential hazard must be identified and eliminated before it develops into an accident.
Emergency Evacuation Drill
The emergency evacuation drill began with the sound of the fire alarm. The scenario simulated a fire caused by an electrical short circuit in the production workshop, with smoke rapidly spreading throughout the facility.
Employees responded immediately by covering their noses and mouths, maintaining a low posture, and evacuating along designated escape routes to the assembly point in an orderly manner. The evacuation was completed quickly and efficiently, followed by personnel accountability to ensure everyone had safely exited the building.
After the exercise, safety supervisors reviewed the evacuation process and provided guidance on improving evacuation posture, reporting procedures, and emergency coordination to ensure preparedness for real-life emergencies.
Practical Firefighting Training
During the practical training session, safety specialists introduced the proper applications and operating procedures for dry chemical and carbon dioxide (CO₂) fire extinguishers.
A controlled live-fire exercise allowed newly hired employees and personnel in key positions to practice extinguishing fires using portable extinguishers. Through hands-on experience, participants gained confidence and transformed theoretical knowledge into practical firefighting skills.
Employees also practiced rapidly deploying and connecting fire hoses while learning the correct operation of indoor fire hydrants for controlling fires at an early stage.
