AC motor "is a mechanical device used to convert mechanical energy and alternating current energy into each other. Due to the significant development of the AC power system, AC motors have become the most commonly used motors. Compared with DC motors, AC motors have a simpler structure, are easier to manufacture, are more sturdy, and can be easily made into high-speed, high-voltage, high current, and large capacity motors due to the lack of a commutator (see DC motor commutation). The coverage range of AC motor power is very large, from a few watts to tens of thousands of kilowatts, and even millions of kilowatts. In the early 1980s, the largest steam turbine generator had reached 1.5 million kilowatts.
