Where is the future of the domestic AGV market?

Core Abstract: Guide: AGV is an automatic guided transport vehicle. Its control system involves many fields such as mechanics, electronics, optics and computers. From the perspective of system configuration, the AGV system mainly includes two parts, namely the control system and the basic hardware. Among them, the control system mainly includes the main control system, the vehicle controller and the navigation system; the basic hardware mainly includes the body, the driver, the sensor, the battery and the like.

Status: Overview of the domestic AGV market development

At present, according to GGII (High-Industry Research Institute of Electric Vehicles) data, in 2018, China's AGV sales volume was 23,500 units, an increase of 49.65%. In 2018, the AGV market reached 3.481 billion yuan, an increase of 36.38%. In 2018, the proportion of AGV applications in China accounted for the highest proportion in the automotive industry, accounting for 23.8%, followed by home appliance manufacturing, accounting for 21.2%; the third was logistics, accounting for 15.8%. The first three fields accounted for over 50%, reaching 60.8%.
At present, the demand for AGV robots in China is strong, and the demand areas are relatively concentrated. AGV is increasingly used in manufacturing, logistics, inspection and other industries. In general, at present, the manufacturing industry of the automotive industry, home appliance manufacturing, warehousing and logistics is still the main demand market for China's AGV.
For example, in recent years, benefiting from the rapid development of online shopping and e-commerce platforms, warehousing AGV robots have grown rapidly, and the electricity storage capacity of the national memory is 40 million square meters, and with the continuous development of e-commerce, it is still growing, with conveyor lines, etc. Compared to large logistics equipment, AGV is more flexible and has a return on investment of 100% to 150%.

According to market analysis, the AGV showed explosive growth in 2018, and the competition in the AGV industry will intensify in 2019. With the advancement of AGV industrialization and smart logistics, various forms of innovative enterprises have entered the field of AGV, showing a situation of blooming.
In terms of market investment and financing, since 2018, the term capital winter has been popular in many industries. But capital did not stop chasing in the AGV field. From the second half of 2018 to the first half of 2019, AGV financing incidents continue. As domestic AGVs are mostly start-ups, the entry of capital will definitely open the way for the development of enterprises.
The future: AGV exports to the international market just around the corner
At the same time, China's AGV robots are on the international stage, and it is just around the corner, especially in Southeast Asia. At present, domestic AGV exports to Europe, the United States, Japan, but Southeast Asia has been known as one of the "world's workbench", many low-tech products from this production and export.
Professionals say that in the next few decades, robot manufacturing will replace many low-tech jobs. Although the Southeast Asian market is still dominated by labor-intensive enterprises, the labor costs are low, but the productivity of Southeast Asian workers is not high, and there is a large demand for AGV.

In this regard, many industrial robot manufacturers have set their sights on Southeast Asia. Whether it is to set up a company and build a factory locally, or to cooperate with local enterprises, they are increasing the intensity and speed of the layout. Among them, AGV robots have better advantages and can enter overseas markets more quickly.

It is reported that Ma Yun built the world's largest robot warehouse in Southeast Asia for the first time, which also indicates that it is imperative for AGV robots to enter the Southeast Asian market. It is understood that many companies have applications in Southeast Asia, including Xinsong, Kunming, Guozi Robot, Jizhijia, Jingyuan, Aijiwei and so on.
But at the same time, we should also see that although China's AGV industry has developed rapidly in recent years, it still has a gap of 20 years or so with Europe and the United States. This gap cannot be caught up in a short period of time, and most of the AGV companies are mostly startup companies. The short set-up time and lack of project experience have all led domestic companies to suffer losses in international competition.
Overall, the early AGV fields at home and abroad are large, but with the development of the industry and the acceleration of global trade, the characteristics and application scenarios of AGV products at home and abroad will no longer be clear. For AGV, product characteristics determine that technology research and development is its breakthrough point. Only by mastering technology and continuously innovating products can we form a relatively core competitiveness and pave the way for future brand development.
