Dürr launches EcoProFleet as AGV for future paint shop

Core Abstract: Dürr presented the first AGV designed for the smart paint shop at its 11th Global Customer Open Day event. The AGV technology, called EcoProFleet, combines traditional self-propelled cars with Dürr's innovative technology, such as the new energy storage concept. This means that the AGV can run without interruption and does not require special charging time.
Dürr presented the first AGV designed for the smart paint shop at its 11th Global Customer Open Day event. The AGV technology, called EcoProFleet, combines traditional self-propelled cars with Dürr's innovative technology, such as the new energy storage concept. This means that the AGV can run without interruption and does not require special charging time.

Unlike traditional conveyor technology, which is strictly fixed on the ground to transport the body, the new AGV runs independently in parallel between the workstation, checkpoint and storage area. EcoProFleet can help with modular production, despite the different bodywork and different processing times, no longer waiting time. Therefore, the greater the difference between the body structure and the painting, the greater the cost-effectiveness. Since the AGV can be redirected to a different workstation or to a different paint booth, the downtime caused by a sudden failure is also reduced to a lower limit. Jens Reiner, Director of R&D and Product Management at Dürr, said of the importance of this new technology: “Scalability and flexibility are becoming more and more important in the paint shop. With EcoProFleet, we designed the paint shop. The first AGV opened an important breakthrough for these needs."

Strictly meet the specific requirements of painting

EcoProFleet 是杜尔*款专为涂装车间设计的 AGV。

EcoProFleet is an AGV designed by Dürr for the paint shop.

EcoProFleet is an AGV optimized for the needs of the paint shop. It is resistant to paint and solvents and is only 225mm high. This height means that the AGV has access to all typical workstations and conveyor systems, making it easy to get the body into the workstation, transfer or transfer the body to work perfectly together at each interface. In order to ensure the stable transportation of heavy cargo, EcoProFleet has a weight of 850 kg, a good design ratio and a load capacity of 1000 kg. It integrates laser scanning and safe speed limiting technology with a high level of safety.

Intelligent concept of energy supply and control

使用 EcoProFleet,车身可以独立运行,并在涂装车间的各工作站之间以平行的方式运行。

With the EcoProFleet, the body can be operated independently and in parallel between the workstations in the paint shop.

The energy storage concept with Supercap technology enables intelligent logistics to adapt to the painting process. The EcoProFleet uses a capacitor as an energy store that can be charged in just 1.5 minutes. The charging point is strategically installed in the factory layout, where the AGV is static anyway, for transferring or transferring a body. This short time is sufficient to provide the supercapacitor with sufficient energy before reaching the next charging point. Compared to battery-powered fleets, a fixed number of transport systems always need to be kept on the power outlet for several hours. The benefit of the EcoProFleet energy concept is that all AGVs are always up and running. This is ensured by a complex control system that is connected to Dürr's central production control technology DXQ control. As a result, Dürr provides AGV with a consistent intelligent control system across all levels for the paint shop: single AGV physical controlled equipment control, route planning fleet control and more order planning are transparently connected via the interface. This allows AGV to leverage its potential as a flexible and efficient transportation system.
